Laser Cutting
As a specialty steel service center, TMT concentrates on precision CNC laser cutting. Using CAD or DXF files, the lasers are programmed to cut just about any shape you can think of in a wide variety of materials and thicknesses. TMT recently added a new 4000 watt CNC lasers that will cut carbon steel up to 3/4 inch thick. Now TMT has two 2500 watt lasers and the 4000 watt laser. Each laser cutting machine uses a Carbon Dioxide or CO2 laser and, depending on the metal being cut, it will use Oxygen, or Nitrogen. The lasers can cut steel plates, stainless steel, aluminum, and plastic. If desired, all three lasers can etch or engrave your company name and part number.
Laser cutting machines are being used by metal fabricators in place of older technology equipment. Laser cutting machines offer significant advantages in productivity, precision, part quality, material utilization and flexibility. Laser cutting is a thermal process that can be applied to high quality precision cutting. The laser cutting process works similarly to a magnifying glass focusing the sun's energy to burn paper or a leaf.
